- Many clients find value in “spring cleanups” or “fall cleanups”. Whether it’s offering a cleaning day to your residents to clear out there clutter or working with your community to clean the common areas, Trash Away can help. We can provide staff members not only to clean up your grounds, but to haul it away the same day.
We ask and urge our clients to recycle, not only because it is the law but also because recycling generally prevents the waste of potentially useful materials, reduces the consumption of raw materials and reduces the energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin production.
Our experienced staff will sit down with you to develop a customized recycling program that meets the needs of your building or community, while making sure that all local and state regulations are met.
We can manage your mixed paper needs (cardboard, copy paper, junk mail, telephone books, etc.) as well as commingled items such as glass, aluminum and tin cans, plus any plastic items allowed by your local facilities. We also provide single-stream recycling where available.

That’s why in addition to our unique bagging system and dumpster services Trash Away can customize a valet trash removal service specifically for you.

Lee started the Company in 1997 along with her partner, Loretto Desjardins, as a companion company to their then existing cleaning company. Lee has a nursing degree and an advanced degree from the Wharton School of Business. Prior to her joining Loretto in her cleaning company, Lee was a nurse and a scientist administrator at the National Cancer Institute. Her knowledge and experience gained from the past 20 years in the cleaning and waste removal industries are invaluable in directing the growth and expansion of Trash Away. Lee consults on all aspects of Trash Away operations.
Cheryl is the newest member of the growing Trash Away team and brings with her in-depth knowledge and experience serving the Washington DC Metro business community. She is committed to increasing the company's footprint through an ongoing customer focus, and by educating decision makers about Trash Away’s innovative waste management solutions.
Marketing and Communications
Joe has been a part of the Trash Away team since 2013, when he joined the team as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Joe has over 12 years of managerial and outreach experience as well as web and graphic design. Prior to joining Trash Away, Joe worked in the banking industry specializing in client relations.
Chela has been a part of the Trash Away team since its inception. She is responsible for all day to day operations for Trash Away clients, ranging from customer service to supervising and scheduling of employees and daily routes. She is actively involved in starting up new contracts and directing efforts to deliver efficient, quality service to all clients.
